• Vivo has become the latest smartphone maker to launch a 5G smartphone. The Chinese company on Thursday introduced the new iQoo Pro 5G Edition at a press event in China. The Vivo iQoo Pro will also offered in a 4G-only variant. The new phone joins the likes of iQoo, iQoo Neo in the company's iQoo series and shares a number of design elements with the original Vivo iQoo phone. The Vivo iQoo Pro comes with features like a 6.41-inch display with a waterdrop-style notch, Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, and 4,500mAh battery.

• The dual-SIM (Nano) Vivo iQoo Pro 5G Edition supports 5G connectivity in one slot and 4G LTE in the other, whereas the 4G variant comes with 4G connectivity support in both slots. Apart from the connectivity differences, other specifications of the 5G Edition are same as the 4G model. The phone runs on FuntouchOS 9, based on Android 9 Pie, and features a 6.41-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) Super AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint sensor. It is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, paired with up to 12GB of RAM. Additionally, the company has packed a 4,500mAh battery with support for 44W fast charge.
• On the imaging front, there is a triple rear camera setup on the back of Vivo iQoo Pro, which houses an AI-powered 48-megapixel primary shooter, a 13-megapixel wide-angle camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The company has also added a 12-megapixel (Dual-Pixel) selfie camera on the front.
• Vivo has also packed up to 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage inside the phone with no expansion support. Other specifications of the phone include NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and Hi-Res Audio support. Vivo iQoo Pro measures 158.77x75.73x9.325mm. The 4G variant weights 215 grams and the 5G variant weighs 217 grams.

Vivo iQOO Pro prices, availability

• The iQOO Pro 4G variant will be available in two variants. The base model with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM costs CNY 3,198 (approximately Rs 32,300). The top model with 128GB storage and 12GB RAM costs CNY 3,498 (approximately Rs 35,300).
• The iQOO Pro 5G variant, on the other hand, comes in three variants. The base model with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM costs CNY 3,798 (approximately Rs 38,400). The mid variant with 256GB storage and 8GB RAM costs CNY 3,998 (approximately Rs 40,400). Lastly, the top model with 128GB storage and 12GB RAM costs CNY 4,098 (approximately Rs 41,400).
• Buyers will be able to choose from three color options. The iQOO Pro 4G variant will go on sale in China starting August 29. The iQOO Pro 5G variant, on the other hand, will go on sale starting September 2. There is currently no word on Vivo’s plans to launch these smartphones in other markets.

• The Vivo iQOO comes with 6.41-inch Super AMOLED display having a screen resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels and a sharp density of 402 PPI. It has an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 that makes it look stylish. Thus, the bezel-less display will be appreciated by the users. 
• The device has been equipped with the octa-core processor that runs at a speed of 2.84GHz. It is seated upon the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip that can provide great performance together. It has the Adreno 640 GPU and 6GB RAM that provides a good multitasking and gaming experience.

• The device has been provided with a triple camera set up at the rear with 12MP, 13MP and 2MP. It can capture amazing pictures with great clarity and a crisp finish. It comes with a 12MP front lens that captures superb quality selfie pictures one would love to share.
• For the power backup, there is a Li-ion battery having a capacity of 4,000mAh. It can supply huge power backup to keep the device running for a long time.

• The Vivo iQOO comes with internal storage of 128 GB that is too spacious to keep multiple files of the users. It also has an expandable memory that supports up to 256Gb via a microSD card.
• For the connectivity, it has Wi-Fi 802.11, Mobile Hotspot, Bluetooth, A-GPS, Glonass, NFC, USB Type-C, etc.
